Who We Are



Set up in May 2016, Orange Box North East  is very much a community led business, which identifies and responds to the issues of local people.  Those issues identified include:
  • FURNITURE POVERTY  and the lack of affordable, quality furniture and household items for those on low income.  Reducing the numbers purchasing essential household items through long term, high interest loans
  • Excessive amounts of household items being sent to landfill
  • High rates of long term unemployment, poor uptake of quality volunteering opportunities, and high levels of social exclusion within the community
As a social business with strong ethical values we aim to tackle these issues through:
  • Free furniture collection service for all those unwanted items
  • Provision of low cost household furniture items to individuals and families on low income;
  • Up-skilling of vulnerable adults, making them more job-ready and employable;
  • Reduced amounts of waste going to landfill
  • Economic growth to the area

​As a Community Interest Company, we operate on a not-for-profit basis.  This means that all income is fed straight back into the business, whether this be for helping  with running costs and/or creating employment within our Company.

​Locally based, and locally managed, we ensure ALL of our services, resources and finances remain in the North East!  

We offer FREE FURNITURE COLLECTION on all household items - from single items to full house clearances.
